2/54

Only four patients overnight; much more doable when easing in. On the other hand, one new patient had an NSTEMI. Oh well, time to brush up on everything. What I learned: dual-platelet activity is necessary for management of NSTEMI/UA. Also, I need to learn a crap-ton more medicine. I'll keep looking for IM review material online for informal study.

1/54

Tonight, I learned more about Epic (how to write sign-out notes, for example). I learned that a "20-bag" of heroin equals two dime-bags equals $20. I learned that even though I'm rusty, I can admit 5 patients, cover a team of (an additional) 25 and do STIK pager in the same night. The next step is to develop a system in which I can more efficiently handle 6 or 7 admissions and see more patients in crisis if need be. I think it has to do with writing notes more efficiently.
